Great post. Thanks for experimenting on our behalf :). What is the long term impact on kidneys because of prolonged creatine supplement intake? Any findings there ?
Great question, it seems like it’s not helpful for people that already have kidney issues but it doesn’t create issues for people who are otherwise already healthy.
Ok, thanks. just seems on the podcasts you mention the attitude is a bit “flush your system with as much as you can/want and the body takes what it needs”
They were keen to keep ratcheting up the dosage until they stopped to notice any difference.
What’s interesting is Huberman who’s a bit larger points out for larger men, 10g is the equivalent for 5g for most people. I can accept the logic behind that.
In my case, I didn’t see any noticeable difference between 10 and 5g and I weight 210-215lbs (~95-96 kgs)

Thank you so much!
I’m glad you liked it.
Nothing seemed to indicate it caused kidney problems but if somebody already has an issue with their kidneys, it can further exacerbate things.
i just got on creatine, what do you think about peptides and collagen?
Nice! Hope it goes well and I don’t have a view on those, never took or looked into taking them!

I agree with pretty much everything in the article.
His concerns about it being processed or ultra processed could apply to any type of supplement or most things found in the grocery store.
If somebody has concerns they should definitely test and see if creatine is having some of these negative second order affects he’s referring to.
If somebody prefers to eat 32 Oz of steak each day, they should but that might also come with other negative consequences as well.
can there be a neg side effect from the high dosage for the kidneys?
